The 2015 Heritage Baseball season has the potential to be one of the most successful seasons in recent years, possibly in the program’s history.
“The Patriots will go as far as their work ethic takes them. There is a lot of hard work ahead. We will compete,” said Coach Dean Lehrman.
With nine returning varsity players, the future is bright. Last year, the Patriots started 7-0, and at the time were ranked 2nd in 3A. Although the varsity team started off the year hot, the season was deemed unsuccessful after falling in sectionals to an average Norwell baseball squad as well as dropping the ACAC.
This year the Heritage squad has higher expectations than ever before, with a majority of starters returning as well as other experienced players. After adding underclassmen and prospects from the junior varsity team, the varsity team boasts a roster filled with talent.
This year could possibly be one of the most successful seasons in recent years, if not the history of the program. State is the furthest that the Patriot baseball program has reached in the past, having been done in 2007. Also, the 2004 squad lost in semi-state. If the 2015 Heritage baseball program works hard and lives up to their potential, the sky is the limit.
