Girls’ basketball finished up their season in early February. The girls struggled in their final game vs. Columbia City, losing 61-46. The final game didn’t sum up their entire season as they finished three games above .500 with a impressive 13-10 record. The girls put together several impressive wins including a win over Blackhawk. The most impressive performance of the year may have been the thrilling game against state ranked Canterbury. The patriots ended up losing 87-82 but almost withstood a stunning game from Canterbury star Darby Maggard. The patriots finished above .500. in conference, having a 4-3 record.
The Lady Patriots will be losing 6 seniors. Including key cogs down low and college commits, Kendall Knapke, and Tattenai Hall. Junior Jessica Franke had this to say about their seniors this year, “They were awesome players and even better leaders. It was awesome to know we had friends off the court but great leaders on the court. They will be missed next year”. The juniors this year will have to step up and be leaders next year.
