On Friday, September 25th, Heritage took on an out of state opponent, the Holgate Tigers, for the annual Homecoming game. The Patriots didn’t disappoint on homecoming, winning with a score of 40-16. Heritage has had some trouble scoring this year, but may have found some rhythm with the convincing performance on Friday. They had no such trouble in the 40 point effort. Statistical leaders for the Patriots included Justyn Hart who had 205 yards on 31 carries and 4 touchdowns. Jacob Ritchie had 91 yards on 4 carries and a 77 yard touchdown run. The Patriots defense also showed up on Homecoming night, tallying 3 interceptions by three different players, Zach White, Matt Meredith, and Nick Bosler. Evan Knapke was the only Patriot to record a sack on the night.
On October 2nd, the Patriots will host the Bluffton Tigers on their Senior Night in a conference game. Heritage will look to use the momentum from the good game against Holgate to try and limit Bluffton’s D’Wayne Eskridge and pull out a key conference victory.
