Multiple Teams · Patriots Rout Tigers on Senior Night

ACAC play continued Friday on the Patriots Senior Night as Heritage hosted the Bluffton Tigers. The game was predicted to be a close contest that could go either way. The Patriots didn’t agree as they went on to rout the Tigers with a final score of 37-6.

Justyn Hart led the Patriots run-heavy offense with 191 yards and 3 touchdowns on 15 carries. Hart racked up all of those numbers in about a quarter and a half before leaving the game due to injury. Jacob Ritchie had 43 yards on 10 carries and also found the end zone for the second straight game. Jeshua Foster caught 2 passes from quarterback Walter Knapke for 22 yards, one of which Foster carried for a touchdown.

The Patriots defense also played a stellar game on Friday. Heritage tallied up 4 turnovers with 2 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries. The interceptions were by Zach White, who also had an interception in the win against Holgate, and Lamont Carpenter. The other 2 takeaways were fumble recoveries by Evan Knapke and Jack Woenker.

Heritage will travel to Southern Wells Friday, October 9th, and will look to improve their 4-3 overall record and their 2-2 conference record.IMG_7356
