The cross country teams surged to an astonishing finish at the Marion Invite this past Saturday, Sept. 3. They were able to finish 6th for both the girls and boys teams out of 24 teams in each division. “This finish was absolutely astonishing given the amount of teams we went up against. We also were doing this without our #3 runner on the boys side and #4 runner on the girls side,” said Coach Smith.
There was a new leader on the boys side as Jack Beauchot (17th) beat out Devin Schmenk (18th) at the finish. “This competition between our top runners is going to push them to continually get better every day in practice,” stated Coach Smith. Andy Kohrman, Jacob Anderson, and Niklaus Smith rounded out the top boys finishers. The girls team were led by Lilly Biggins (30th), Rylee Jarrell, Rozlynn Everhart, Miranda Gerardot, and Katelyn Sebring.
