The Heritage Cross Country team sloshed through the South Adams Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 17. The team completed the course during the rain and through parts of the course that were under at least a foot of water.
The boys exited the meet covered in mud, but with an exceptional finish. They took the 3rd place spot out of 14 teams, coming very close to beating perennial powerhouse, South Adams. They were led by Jack Beauchot. Also finishing in top 25 out of 114 finishers were Devin Schemenk, Corey Foster, and Jeremiah Farmer.
Leading the girls charge were Lilly Biggins, Rozlynn Everhart, and Anna Grace Whitacre.
“I am very proud of our team for pushing through on this rain soaked day!” stated Coach Smith.
The team has a home meet tonight, Sept. 20, with Woodlan and Adams Central, and then they will look forward to the New Haven Classic this Saturday at IPFW.
