The Patriots boys and girls varsity cross country teams took to the home turf on Tuesday night, Sept. 20, in their final home meet of the season, and both teams defeated the visiting Woodlan Warriors. It was also Senior Night, as the team celebrated the careers of senior ladies, Rozlynn Everhart and Emily McKinnon.
Heritage was able to defend its home course this season, finishing with a record of 3-0 for both the boys and girls teams. The girls team was able to edge Woodlan with a score of 24 to 36. Leading the Lady Patriots were Lilly Biggins in 2nd, Rozlynn Everhart in 4th, and Miranda Gerardot in 5th.
The boys put forth a dominating effort, winning 15 to 48. They had the first 6 finishers in the race. Leading the pack was Jack Beauchot in 1st, follwed by Devin Schmenk in 2nd, and Jeremiah Farmer in 3rd.
The teams are back in action Saturday at the New Haven Classic at IPFW.
