The Heritage Boys’ basketball team beat Jay County 49-32 on Friday, Feb. 10, to win a share of the ACAC regular season conference title. The Woodlan Warriors also share the title with the Patriots, after Heritage defeated Woodlan during the season and also fell to Southern Wells, leaving both the Patriots and Warriors with one loss.
This is the first time the boys’ basketball team has won a share of the title since 2007. This is a huge confidence boost for the boys as they transition into postseason play.
Senior, Rylie Schane said after the game, “Coach [Singrey] gave us three goals at the beginning of the season: win conference, win sectional, and win state. So there’s one goal down.” The boys are looking to make big postseason run.
The team is next in action on Thursday night at New Haven and then home on Saturday, Feb. 18, as they take on Garrett.
Heritage continues its highly successful 2016-17 run in the ACAC, with its fifth title of the year, already having won the ACAC in Girls Golf and Volleyball and Boys Soccer and Cross Country.
