The Heritage Boys Track Team won the ACAC championship on Friday, May 12. The championship meet was hosted at Bluffton High School, and the boys represented the school well in all of their events.
Caleb Goldsmith was third place in the 100 meter dash, while his teammate Kashawn Bass was just behind him in fifth place. In the 1600 Devin Schmenk and Jack Beauchot received second and third place. The 4×4 Team of Caleb Goldsmith, Hannibal Hall, Niklaus Smith, and Kashawn Bass took second place. Nik Smith took fourth place in the 400 meter dash. Hall finished fourth place in the 300 meter hurdles. Schmenk came in second for the 800 meter run.
In the field events, Hall was second in long jump with a jump of 20 feet and seven inches. Adam Koenig came in fourth place for high jump. Kashawn Bass also partook in shot put and walked away with a fourth place finish.
Leading the way for the Patriots, though, was senior Jeshua Foster, who was the only Patriot first place finisher for the evening. Foster came in first place in both shot put and discus.
This is the sixth time this year that Heritage teams have won ACAC championships.
After being postponed last night due to weather, the boys now travel back to New Haven High School tonight for the sectional competition. The meet will begin at 5:00. Admission will be $6. Go Patriots!
