AC & Heritage vs. Human Slavery. That was the title of the competition for the volleyball game on Tuesday night between the Adams Central Jets and your Heritage Lady Patriots. Adams Central hosted the Lady Patriots, and the proceeds from the game would go to help stop human trafficking. In between matches buckets were passed around for donations, and bracelets were also sold.
The Lady Patriots handled this match very easily, winning all three sets by scores of 25-12, 25-18, and 25-22. This win pushes the girls’ record to 8-4. Senior leader, Grace Castleman said, “It was very exciting to play for such a great cause, and to come out with a win against such a strong program was an added bonus.”
This win was a confidence boost and some momentum to ride as they prepared to play rival school, Leo, on Thursday. However, while the Lady Pats put up a strong fight, the Lions would prevail in the end, winning 3-1.
The volleyball team takes to the court next on Monday, Sept. 11, at Wayne.
