The Heritage girls golf team has advanced to the regional competition, and they will compete for the title at East Noble tomorrow morning, Saturday, Sept. 23.
The girls, with a team total of 374, placed third out of 13 teams at the 2017 IHSAA Norwell Girls Sectional Golf Meet last Saturday. The only teams ahead of them were Bellmont, with a 370, and Homestead, leading the way at 313.
Senior, Karlee Fackler led the way for the Lady Pats, shooting an astounding 87 on the day. Kate Buuck followed up with an impressive 93. The senior, Buuck, said, “Waiting for the results to come in was very nerve racking, because we knew it would be close, but when we found out we advanced it was very exciting.”
“It was great to move on, and know that all of our hard work had paid off,” said senior leader, Brittany May.
Looking forward to the coming regional, Buuck added, “The goal for regionals is to shoot our best scores and to know that no matter the outcome we gave it our all.” The team has already played a practice round at the regional course just to gain an advantage over the competition.
